We are an oasis of sophistication in an unspoiled natural setting. No street lights, rough terrain, wild animals. In fact, during WWII, Patton trained his troops for battle against Rommel in Africa right here in our canyon!
Operated by a critically renowned chef and his two dogs- Boxer Gianni and Irish Wolfhound mix Piero, Desperados is within easy driving distance of restaurants, gay and straight nightclubs and all the glamour Palm Springs has to offer!
Less than a two hour drive from Los Angeles and San Diego, Desperados combines the magic of a serene getaway with the comforts of home. Come stay with us and you will understand why Casa de los Desperados is considered Palm Spring's best kept secret, popular with writers, birders, geologists and professionals seeking a break from their busy schedules.
Casa de los Desperados
This antique-filled estate is a favorite for travelers and explorers seeking a beautiful, romantic and undeveloped desert destination. "The Casa" features stunning mountain views , attentive, caring hosts, and luxuriously appointed rooms each with their own private entrance and patio. You can enjoy an early morning cup of coffee on your private patio as the sun comes up on the mountains, or join other guests in the dining room for friendly conversation and a superb homemade breakfast !
Our cuisine is creative and comforting, drawing on international flavors with an organic and local market driven inspiration. Infact our kitchen is decorated with the many awards and articles (NY Times, Gourmet, Bon Apetit, Food Arts, etc) that we have appeared in.
Late arrivals often dine with us their first night, rather than search out a restaurant. The greatest compliment we can get is when they choose to dine in again during their stay! Dinners are served at our 18th century Irish wake table with all the guests and the hosts joining in for lively conversation and of course great food and wine!
